About Us
Welcome to The Valkyrie Project, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering American female service members.
Our mission is to provide these women with the tools they need to excel in their military careers through a unique blend of human performance training, education, research, and advocacy.
What We Offer:
-
Specialized Training Programs: Our workout programs are specifically designed for female tactical athletes (FTAs), enhancing their physical performance and resilience.
-
Community and Support: We foster a supportive network for female warriors, including educational forums to help them thrive.
-
Military Women’s Symposium: Hosted annually, this event focuses on leveraging cutting-edge research and technology to empower female service members.
Inspired by Norse mythology, where Valkyries were female demigods who influenced battles, we aim to symbolize the strength and potential of modern military women.
Join us in our mission to support and uplift these incredible women.
History
The Valkyrie Project, Inc. was founded in 2018 as an LLC with the mission to provide fitness programming for women pursuing military roles that were previously closed to them.
Recognizing the need to support the health and human performance of servicewomen more broadly, the organization became a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in April of 2023.
In doing so, The Valkyrie Project expanded its mission and increased its ability to support the advancement of American servicewomen.
The organization was founded by Major Meg Tucker, a U.S. Army veteran and former Kiowa Warrior pilot who later served as a Psychological Operations officer in Special Operations Forces (SOF).
Drawing on both her operational experience and academic research, Meg recognized a critical gap in how women were prepared for and supported in high-performance military roles following the opening of combat positions.
Her vision for The Valkyrie Project was grounded in a holistic understanding of female performance: integrating physiology, training, culture, and community into a practical framework that could directly enhance readiness and opportunity.
Through Meg’s leadership, The Valkyrie Project became not only a training resource but also a platform for research, education, and advocacy in support of female tactical athletes. Since concluding her tenure as president in September 2025, Meg’s vision continues to guide the organization.
Today, The Valkyrie Project builds on her legacy by advancing evidence-based approaches, fostering a strong community, and ensuring that servicewomen are equipped to meet the demands of the modern operational environment.
